Dozier Medical Chemistry Spring 2011

Welcome to Medical Chemistry!

Chemistry 1, 2 is a laboratory course that will prepare you for more advanced scientific inquiry.  Chemistry is an exciting field and we will survey a wide spectrum of chemistry concepts while engaging in laboratory investigations and projects.  The course is divided into units of study, two units in the first quarter and three units in the second quarter.
Quarter 1:
Unit 1- Atoms and the Periodic Table
    Unit 2- Conservation of Matter
Quarter 2
Unit 3- Gas Laws and Reaction Rates
    Unit 4- Solutions and Biochemistry
This course satisfies the UC and CSU “D”-subject requirement in physical science. These units correlate with the California Academic Content Standards.  Click here for more information about the standards.

My Commitment

I enjoy teaching science and working with students.  The ability to think scientifically will benefit you in many aspects of your life and I hope this course sets you on a path toward becoming a critical thinker.

I believe that each and every one of my students is capable of earning a passing grade in this course.  You are intelligent, mature, and capable people.  In light of this, I expect you to be responsible for meeting all deadlines and requesting help when needed.

I am available at the Science Success Academy and by appointment to help with any issues you may have.  I am not a mind reader, so please speak up if there is anything I can do to help you succeed!
