Our crack team of testers is currently playing through the (very few) completed maps.
This internal alpha testing is the last stage before the public beta release.

I just uploaded a new gameplay video (and 13 new screenshots). As you can see, the game is already playable, although lots of things still have to be fixed/improved.
Now for various changes in the project:
- Weapons don't have to be reloaded anymore, as it slowed down the game's pace and made it less "doomish".
- All weapons will have secondary attack modes
- The colored-coded keys have been dropped in favor of more varied items.
- The megasphere WILL be included |

Here it is! The first real gameplay video of Doomed Again!
FEATURED IN THIS VIDEO:
Monsters: former human, imp, demon, lost soul
Weapons: pistol, dual pistols, shotgun, assault rifle, plasma rifle
Features not present in vanilla Doom: flares (unlimited, can throw one every ten seconds), night vision goggles (can be toggled on/off at will but require some time to recharge)
Don't forget you can view the video in HD (and fullscreen) on its YouTube page.

Five new screenshots have been uploaded to the media section. I also added a new page, " progress overview", where you can see what's done and what's left to do. |

The former human and former human sergeant are done. Most of the textures are complete too. As it'll take some time to complete all sprites and I don't want you to wait any longer, I will focus on finalizing all assets for episode 1 (Knee-deep in the dead) so I can upload a playable beta including only episode 1 in the upcoming weeks. Stay tuned. |

That's it, the imp is complete and fully animated. You can forget the sorry-looking pale-skinned creatures you've seen in the alpha video. |

The editor is almost complete (just a few bugs left to fix). As soon as it is done, I'll upload a video so you can see it in action. And now for something completely different : I need hi-res textures of doors. I'm looking for "base" themed doors (any kind of sci-fi doors), stone doors (for the excavated ruins in Phobos/Deimos anomalies) and "hellish" doors (wood and iron, this kind of stuff). On the more technical side: There are two main "types" of doors: - Classic doom doors, which raise into the ceiling when opened. No problem here. - Splitting doors, with the lower half sinking into the ground and the upper half raising into the ceiling. Textures for these doors, obviously, will have to have some sort of horizontal seam in the middle. I need both normal, non-tileable door textures and "horizontally tileable" doors, the latter being used to create wide doors. Texture size must be 512x512 (sector height 64) or 512x1024 (sector height 128). So if you're a texture artist and want to contribute to this project, send me a mail. Of course, you'll be fully credited for your work. |
