As we get closer to the change-over to DTV and the end of the old analog age, I've finally made the move to a high definition television. I was beginning to wonder if that would ever happen...but it finally has. And what a wonderful thing it's turned out to be. Seeing a hi-def TV in the store is nothing like seeing it in your own living room. After getting it home, my son helped me get it in from the car. A 37" TV isn't that huge, so don't be worried about how you're going to get it home. If you've got a standard sized 4-door car, you shouldn't have any problem getting it home. After cutting open the top of the box, the power cable and remote were right there, nestled in a pocket of one of the styrofoam corner protectors. Taking them out, and pulling out the styrofoam protectors, we then laid the box down on it's side and pulled the television out, screen face up. It was wrapped in protective plastic which was easily removed. At the bottom of the box we found the stand, the 4 philips screws to attach it were taped to it. While I held up the bottom of the TV off the floor, my son screwed the base to it and we were able to set it up on the TV stand. It took only a few minutes for my son to get his PS3 and Wii hooked up and the cable line attached. Powering up the TV, the VIZIO name on the front glowed to life. It immediately started scanning the available channels, which took a few minutes, but within five minutes, we were watching TV. We don't subscribe to high definition cable, so the picture wasn't crystal clear, but it was better than what we'd been used to on our old analog set. It's so much easier to see print on the screen now, you know, all those scrolls across the bottom of the screen that on older, smaller sets look like chicken scratches.
