Imagine place with nothing around - no life, no roads, not even birds flying above - just a plain desert as far as an eye ca see. The place that could be described as "middle of nowhere". And what could be more natural in the middle of nowhere than an... intersection. Well, if you think about it, you've goth there somehow, which means you've followed some path, not necessary known and described and mapped, but it led you there. And it can easily intersect with someone else's path - similar to yours by the means of bringing the person to the same place. Hence, the crossroads.

Strangely, but sometimes that middle of nowhere attracts so many wanderers, so many unmarked paths cross there, that the intersection needs some organizing. And that's exactly what we are doing.

We are going to create a 4-way road intersection in the middle of the desert, directed with a traffic light. We will install motion sensors which will detect people crossing over the intersection, and trigger a sound bite being played, depending on the color of the light the person had crossed. No, we are not going to pass any judgment as far as following the conventional traffic laws - after all, following traffic laws in the desert is just absurd an idea as this project in itself (in spite of all that was said above).

And we recognize that people who made it as far as middle of nowhere need some rest and food - for their bodies and souls. At the roadside we will build a diner, which will be a stopover..., a refuge from the mid-afternoon heat . In there , we will occasionally serve food and drinks; at other times it will serve as an "abandoned roadside diner" installation. And at all times, during the day and the night we will be playing music: ambient, classic psychedelic, movie soundtracks... just good music.
