On May 26 2010 the Provo School District board reviewed in a special study session, a proposal for district wide collaboration time for teachers to learn and practice the PLC model as it relates to student achievement. That proposal passed, and as a result, this school year, all secondary schools will follow the schedule below: (Late Start Mondays)

PANTHER PATROL (Parents Please Join Us)
1. Morning supervision from 7:30 a.m.-8:00 a.m.
2. Lunch supervision from 11:00 a.m.- 12:15 p.m. Parents can volunteer once a week, or more often as your schedule permits. We are asking all parents to volunteer 20 hours to Dixon Middle School as a way to promote the school community relationship that currently exists at Dixon Middle School. Dixon Yearbook Wins

The Yearbook received a national award for excellence. The yearbook "Crank it Up! was named second in the nation for their cover.
This is the first time Dixon has received such an honor. It came with a cash prize.

Dixon Middle School received the prestigious "Best Cleaning Industry Environmental Award" as well as a Green Cleaning Award, and Outstanding Cleaning Worker awards. As a springboard to the Districts "Clean and Healthy Schools Initiative" established in 2010 by Facilities Director Joe Gledhill, Dixon’s custodial crew piloted the new OS1 Cleaning Program this past school year. OS1 is an engineered, science-based cleaning program developed by Salt Lake based ManageMen. Head Custodian, Jeff Hawkins, says "I truly believe that the OS1 program is making our school a healthier, safer, and more comfortable learning environment for our students and teachers. I wholeheartedly endorse this program and look forward to eventually seeing it in all of our schools in Provo School District."
