Dmitry Cheglakov is cellist, composer, performer, multimedia artist. Laureate of "Carlo Soliva" international chamber music competition (1992, 1st prize in duet section) and special prize winner at Kiwanis Alte Musik Wettbeverbe HMT Zurich (2005). From 2003 till now works as a principal cellist in "New Russia" symphony orchestra, Moscow.

Born in Moscow in 1970. Graduated from conservatory in 1993 with cello solo diploma, exellent on musical subjects. Teachers: Alexander Fedorchenko and Natalya Shakhovskaya. Studied composition as an optional subject in Albert Semyonovich Leman's class. In 1998 got scolarship for Darmstadt courses of new music where besides other things had a masterclass study with Siegfried Palm. In 2000 had a masterclass study with Anner Bylsma. From 2003 till 2005 studied in Hochschule Musik und Theater Zurich (scolarship, special baroque cello diploma with exellent grades) in Roel Dieltiens' class.

During his creative life he performed as soloist together with such musicians as Alexey Lyubimov, Theodor Kourentzis, Valentina Ponomaryova, Svyatoslav Ponomaryov, Evgeniy Bushkov, Nikolay Sachenko, Pyotr Aidu, Kirill Ribakov and others.
Worked as soloist with such contemporary composers as Vladimir Ryabov, Iraida Yusupova, Vladimir Nikolaev, Tayana Mikheyeva, Pavel Karmanov, Andrey Dergachov and others. Took part in multimedia projects of such actual artists of the present as Daniel Suter, Oleg Soulimenko, Andrey Smirnov, Dmitry Soubochev and others. Was acting in the film "Dau" by Andrey Krzhanovsky, in the role of Korets.
Took part as soloist, сomposer or performer in festivals "Territory", "Moscow Autumn", "Alternativa", "Moscow Forum", "Moscow - Berlin", "Im Flieger", "Tretyakovka-next", Shostakovich fest, "Taimirsky Kaktus", "Kasemir Malevich performance fest", "Videoopera", "Art of Movement", "The Other Space", "No Translations","Pandus" and other. Took part as soloist in CDs published by labels "Unknown Public" (UK), "Marco Polo" (Germany), "Boheme Music" (Russia) and other.

1992 March: 1st prize in duet section of "Carlo Soliva" competition in Casale Monferrato, Italy.
1995 December: festival "Moscow-Berlin" (Berlin), Theremin center group, performed as a cellist Vladimir Nikolaev's "Antique Relief".
1997 spring: Shostakovich fest, played Shostakovich sonata with Boris Tischenko in Glinka museum, Moscow.
winter: Albert Semyonovich Leman' author's concert in Rachmaninov Hall of Moscow conservatory, played "11" and "Absolute Music" with Sergey Golubkov.
1998: scolarship for Darmschtadt courses of new music, performed his composition "Rust" on student concert
        CD "Vladimir Ryabov" by "Marco Polo" issued where he played cello solo in Vladimir Ryabov's synphony №4
2000: participated in the joint venture of russian composers "Passion-2000" as cellist, composer & guitarist, June 16-17, St Andrew Church, Moscow;
        performed composition "Cadenza & Coda for cello with orchestra & tape" by Iraida Yusupova  on BBC-3 Radio followed by publication in 11th issue of London's CD-journal for listeners "Unknown public".
2001-2003: annual cello recitals in Rachmaninov Hall of Moscow conservatory (2002 January 31st - "Different incarnations of bandmaster Johannes Kreisler" with Peter Aidu and other artists)
2001 November: festival "To you, christian Armenia", performed as a cellist with Alexey Lyubimov & Kirill Ribakov.
2003 up to now works in "New Russia" symphony orchestra (Moscow) as cello principal.
