What is a scammer? According to the dictionary, it is a person trying to perform a fraudulent business scheme.
In this section of the web site I am going to talk about my experiences of what happened to me. I would like to get e-mails from you and if something I get sounds interesting, I will put it in here. If there are any scammers that would like to share with us why they do what they do and something about their selves, I am sure people would love to read about it. Of course no names or e-mail addresses will be published unless permission is given. Please send all your e-mails to dlorfel@yahoo.com. To get my first scam down on paper sort of speaking, the first scam that I almost fell for was: I just opened a Pay Pal account and it was very easy. It is very secure and safe. What I did not realize is, be careful of who you give your account id to. As you can see I am trying to sell a few things over the internet for a few extra dollars. I had a response for someone on one of my ad's from South Africa. They wanted to purchase some product. We agreed on a fair price and I sent him my account id. I figured it was safe which it was. What happened next, was I got an official e-mail from PayPal saying that there was something wrong with my account and it would be suspended if I did not click on the below link and answer some questions. Well they almost got me. I did click on the link but luckily a warning message popped up saying to be careful of this site. Then I realized what happened. The scammer sent me the e-mail so I would give him my information so he could do (BAD THINGS) to me. He tried to go through the back door sort of speak to get to me. If any of you get an e-mail like that send it to spoof@paypal.com and then delete the e-mail. Information About Who and What a scammer is All About.
I did get in touch with Tom(I will call him Tom). I asked him if my Daughter who is on the EMU newspaper staff could ask him some questions. He agreed. She did ask him a few questions and here were the answers. He is from Abuja, and he is Nigerian. he started Scamming 9 years ago. He started doing this because he had no family to care for him. He is now at a university and which he paid for his college and living expenses by scamming. |
