What We DoWe are an autonomous local chapter of the American Meteorological Society(AMS). We try to hold monthly meetings, which are open to the public, during the academic year (September to May). Meetings are usually held on the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee(UWM) campus. We invite speakers from the meteorological community to enlighten attendees on their current research, proceedings of conferences, graduate student research, storm chasing, etc. Most of the speakers we invite are from the southeast Wisconsin area. UWM professors have been generous enough to frequently keep us abreast of their work. Meeting announcements are mailed (as well as e-mailed and posted here) around two weeks before each meeting date. If you have any other questions or comments, please e-mail me.Membership InformationYou do not need to be a member of the national AMS to join our chapter. Anyone interested in weather may join. The annual membership fee is $10. We use that money to buy dinner for our speakers before their talks and to provide refreshments for the meetings.
