DIY raised bed for WaterWand solar water pump solar water butt pump rainwater storage This self watering raised bed is designed for rainwater harvesting from downspouts, the water is then stored for later use for irrigation of flower or vegetable plants using a WaterWand solar powered pump. There are a range of variations to the design which enable it to be used as a pot plant display, flower bed, vegetable bed, wildlife garden or ornamental water butt. The raised bed is designed with an integral reservoir, which is connected to a rain-saver on a downspout. This is positioned so that when it rains rainwater flows into the reservoir until it is full. If at this point further rain falls on the bed, the rainsaver will then act as a drain to prevent water logging of the raised bed.
