Fill the caddy with your favorite stuff and tell us why
Fill the caddy with your favorite stuff and tell us why
I was too lazy to fill the caddy, besides the wine would have made a mess. So here are the things I found most helpful while making this project: The book: read the directions, it's all in there, honest. My walking foot: I began using this after the infamous 12th step. I should have used it from the beginning, all the layers have a tendency to shift - the walking foot saves the day. My pretty blue marking pen: buttonhole - enough said. Handy dandy ruler with red slide thingy : love these - have a couple. Point turner - for when you need to turn those points, I also ran this along my seams after I did the turny right side out part. Buttonhole knife, blade, sharp thing: It helps make your buttonholes look better, also very sharp small scissors. Fray check: once you cut open your buttonhole and you make it nice and neat with your teeny tiny scissors run a little fray check along the cut edge, it will help your buttonhole stay nicer. Practice: your buttonholes::::: actually my practice came out better than the real thing, oh well. I think I changed only one part of the directions, that's step 16. Amy wants you to leave one side open, I am a little self concious of my hand sewing (see Seriously). So I left the bottom open instead. I was concerned about turning through such a small hole, but really it wasn't a problem. Now let me tell you what I think of this project. I'm really thrilled with it. And no-one is more surprised by that than me. It was challenging, and that was good. I think I'll make another.

me and girls
My brother sent the girls some great gifts that they just love. One of them is "Bendaroos". They are like "wiki-sticks"...like wax sticks you can bend into different shapes. Katherine wanted to play with them right away. She also loves that I gave her scissors a few months ago and she's been practicing with them. She thinks she is so grown up when she uses them. She'll tell Elizabeth that she can't use them because she's too little....and all bossy too!
