Dolton School District 148 Bands

 

WELCOME!!!

This website was designed with the intention of enhancing communication of band information between students, parents, District 148 staff and community.

Below are the bands that students in District 148 may be eligible to join:

Beginning Band:  This band is for students who are in 4th or 5th grade school student without any previous band experience.  Junior High students are NOT eligible to join Beginning Band.  Students joining Beginning Band do not need any previous musical training.

Concert Band:  Concert Band is for any student in 5th through 8th grade that has had at least one year of band experience or has been invited by the director.

Symphonic Band:  Symphonic Band is for students in 5th through 8th grade and admission to the group is by audition/invitation only.

Tri-M: Tri-M is a national honor society for musicians.  Eligible students are inducted at the annual Awards Night in May.  Students must be in 6th through 8th grade, must demonstrate excellence in music, strong leadership, be a good role model, and maintain a "B" average in school. 

Meet the Director...

Mrs. Jennifer Fitzpatrick is the director of Bands for Dolton School District 148.  The 2023-2024 school year will be Mrs. Fitzpatrick's 20th year as Band Director and her 27th year working in District 148.   

Mrs. Fitzpatrick earned her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Millikin University.  She has also taken graduate classes from SIUE and from Vandercook College of Music.

Jennifer Fitzpatrick has two daughters in college: Paige and Grace. Some of Mrs. Fitzpatrick's hobbies are sewing, knitting, reading, and scrapbooking.  She has volunteered as a Girl Scout leader for 8+ years. Mrs. Fitzpatrick loves spending time with her family.

Mrs. Fitzpatrick's family has a bearded dragon named Stanley and two dogs named Hudson and Con Brio.

Mrs. Fitzpatrick enjoys teaching band and is looking forward to a great school year!
