What is Discovery Streaming?
- contains thousands of searchable educational video clips
- allows you to search by key words, media type, grade level, VT standard, subject and sub-topic headings, etc.
- allows you to use the service at home
- contains teacher support materials, in many cases
- offers full length video programs that have been divided in to short 1-5 minute clips
- allows you to bookmark clips and share those bookmarks with others
- allows you to stream, download or mark a clip for overnight download to our local server
- lets you edit and add downloaded clips to PowerPoint presentations, SMART Notebook, etc.
- if you like a video you can now see if there are more titles available in that particular series
- if you find a good segment additional, related videos will be suggested in the "More to Explore" section below the clip

- We have a new Web editor, called WordPress, for creating classroom Web pages, posting Newsletters, adding podcasts, photographs, etc.
- It will be available to everyone and will work on any computer in the school.
- It will allow people to edit their Web content from home.
- It is still being rolled out and training will be provided for anyone who is interested as soon as it is ready to go
Flip Video Cameras -
- Easy-to-use Flip video cameras will be available for staff members who wish to create video presentations, record important moments, etc.
- Training is available on editing your video projects
- RETN is looking to post and broadcast videos created in Chittenden County schools
Video Conferencing Capabilities
- Our new projection systems, faster network connection, new Polycom camera and Web Cams give us a new opportunity to work with experts, authors, scientists, teachers and children from around the world without leaving our classrooms
Student Response Systems
- Often called "clickers," we are looking into the possibility of making these individual student-response devices available for formative assessment
