Veils are made of beautiful 100% 5 mm habotai silk, the perfect weight for dancing! If you've never danced with a silk veil before, you have to try it--there's nothing like it! All are rectangular shaped veils, approximately 3 yards long by 45 inches wide. The edges are hemmed with a hand rolled hem. Veils are hand-dyed by me, and washed in a textile detergent to remove any excess dye, then specially rinsed to retain their beautiful color.

The handkerchief skirts are made from 8 mm habotai silk. This is a slightly heavier silk than I use for my veils, since skirts take a little more wear and tear. The skirt is square shaped, so it comes to four points which reach just above the ankle and the straight edges reach about knee length (on me, I'm 5' 7"). It's similar in design to a circle skirt, so you can imagine how those points will fly out as you spin! I love these skirts because they are so versatile. Can you picture how dazzling they would look layered over a bright jewel-toned pair of harem pants? Or a long ruffled skirt?

The waistline is finished with a silk habotai bias tape casing, and there is a grosgrain ribbon used to adjust the fit. (If you prefer, you can easily replace it with a piece of elastic on your own.) That means the skirt can fit a waistline/hipline measurement of up to 46", but will also go as small as you'd like--it will just be more gathered. All seams and the skirt edges are finished with silk thread prior to dying so it dyes to match the skirt's colors and patterns perfectly.

These take longer, but are so worth the effort! The veil and skirt is first dyed black leaving the borders undyed, then overdyed in the color of your choice.
