1. What is it that you do?
We are officially a Sports Webcasting Network. We record video of the biggest games and the best athletics events in Philadelphia high school athletics, and put highlights of those recordings onto our main site and on our blog (www.digitexu.blogspot.com) where people can watch the highlights for free. We also do player and coach interviews, photos, articles, and a lot of interactive segments with the fans in attendance at these events.
2. What sports are going to be on the network?
Currently, we cover football and basketball, and we are looking into covering track and field, baseball, and other high school sports as early as the next few months (this was typed on 11/13/07).
3. How do you decide which games to cover?
Many factors go into this decision, but our main goal is to cover the biggest games and the best rivalries. Our network plans on spotlighting some of the bigger matchups that warrant the extra attention, making each "Digitex-U Game of the Week" a game that the masses will want to read about and watch highlights of. We cover the Catholic, Inter-ac, and public leagues.
4. What else do you do besides game coverage?
Fan interaction is a huge component of Digitex-U Sports. We recently started our first show, "Digitex-U Open Field," that showcases the fans, and we plan to add more as we grow. We want to showcase those who support the athletes, such as cheerleading squads and pep bands. The sports community is larger than the athletes on the field, and we plan to emphasize that.
5. Do I have to pay to enjoy Digitex-U?
No. Our network stresses the belief that, as a network, our webcasts should be made available to everyone. We also do not charge the schools or institutions to cover the games we select. We do plan on selling certain products in the future (such as full-game DVD's), and we also plan on incorporating sponsors and advertisers in the very near future. But to listen to the highlight packages, read the articles and enjoy the many other features of Digitex-U Sports, all you need is a working internet connection. And if we select your institution's game for coverage, you don't have to worry about any fees or anything like that.
6. How can I get my school or league on Digitex-U Sports?
We pick out the games that we will cover based on recent history (success of the teams), game importance, and rivalry history. We are open to suggestions of what games to cover. If you know of a game that you feel should get spotlighted, contact us at marcusw@digitexu.com.
7. Can I advertise through your network?
Advertising will soon become a big part of Digitex-U Sports, just like a regular broadcasting network. We will have many options available for those who would like to advertise with us, from links on our website, to commercial hosting, to flyers and business cards at our announce tables. 8. I would like to be a sponsor for Digitex-U Sports. Is that possible?
Yes. In promoting High School athletics, we believe that we are giving these young athletes a chance to be a part of the spotlight that is often consumed by college and pro leagues.
