Dr. Gregory Lowe, Audiologist, has been practicing Audiology in Fort Wayne for over thirty years.  He received his Ph.D. in Audiology from Purdue University in West Lafayette in Indiana.  Dr. Lowe completed the requirments for a second doctorate in Audiology in 2002 from the Arizona School of Health Sciences.

All of the hearing aids fit by Dr. Lowe are digital.  Dr. Lowe uses the latest fitting software and hardware for programming the digital hearing aids.  He also uses the Verifit system to check the response of the hearing aid in the patient'e ear canal.  The Verifit system uses probe microphone technology to make sure the heairng aids are programmed properly.  The response of the hearing aids can be adjusted using a computer and fitting software.

A thirty day trial period is available for all patients fit with digital hearing aids.  A hearing aid checkup appointment is usually scheduled two and one-half weeks after the heaing aids are fit to make sure the patient is satisfied.  The appointment is also scheduled to determine if any adjustments are necessary.  Some hearing aids have datalogging to help Dr. Lowe determine how the patient is using the hearing aids.  For example, if the log indicates that the patient is in noise 85% of the time and the log indicates that the patient is using their "noise program" only 5% of the time, then the patient will be encouraged to use the noise program more often.  The "noise program" usually incorporates directional microphones and more aggressive noise reduction technology.
