QUACK LAB

Diane M. Quinn, Ph.D.

Research Topics

In our lab we focus on the experience of being the target of stigma.  Some of the questions we are currently investigating include:

(1) How does possessing a concealable stigmatized identity differ from possessing a visible stigmatized identity? Amongst people with a concealable stigmatized identity, what psychological processes predict who will be vulnerable to identity related distress and who will not?

(2) How does the experience of self-objectification shape psychological and performance outcomes of women?

(3) How can weight stigma be reduced while simultaneouly promoting healthy eating and exercise habits?

Kim, Eileen, Amy, Laura, Valerie, & Stephenie psyched for lab meeting!
