Preservation, Restoration, Reflection: Healing the Land by Shaun Perkins In wildness is the preservation of the world. - Henry David Thoreau I was lucky to have a father who loved the land and taught me about it. My respect and love for the natural beauty around me is a legacy that I hope I have passed on to my son. Even though I lived part of my adult life in a small city, I kept the wildness inside me and it sustained me, as I now work to sustain it.
by Cynthea Jones Diana’s Grove Mystery School works with mythology to make the universal, personal. To bring the archetypes of our ancient human stories into the light of modern psychological relevance and use them for healing purposes. We also seek to integrate the shadow sides of our psyches, represented by the "villains" in these stories. If, just as in a dream, every character is an aspect of the dreamer – then those who oppose the heroes of myth are as much a part of us as the heroes themselves. Journey in Words: A Healing Chalice by Shaun Perkins This is a writing exercise. It can take a few minutes or a few hours: it’s up to you. It is best not to read this article until you have the time to do it. So stay if you will, go if you must . . . but return please. Through this writing, you may discover a place of healing or a place that needs healing in your life.

Persephone’s Descent: A Story of Desire, Choice and Becoming Whole by River Roberts What would your life story be like if your mother told it? When I first heard Cynthea Jones ask that question, my world shattered wide open. It was only my third visit to Diana’s Grove, and my first open event —Fall Equinox of 1999. Little did I know that I was about to fall madly and deeply in love with a story, a place, and a community.
by Laurie Dietrich B (to A): What are you doing? A (while spinning around in circles): I’m vacuuming a cat. C (to B): What are you doing? B (while miming a vacuuming action) I’m diving to my death. D (to C, who is preparing to dive): What are you doing? What am I talking about? Rehearsal. Spontaneity rehearsal. The Ones Who Love: You are the Healers By Charlotte B. Mix I am a two-year-old Basset Hound/Beagle mix. My story is also told by other dogs at shelters everywhere... at least the lucky ones, the ones that get to live. In many shelters, I would be considered too much trouble – it would be too long before anyone would consider touching me, let alone loving me. When I came to the Grove, death would have been a kindness for me. I have demodex mange, a common mite that pups get from their moms in the first three days of life. |
