Who I Am

Children have never been very good at listening to their elders, but they never fail to imitate them.  James Baldwin

I am Diana Kay; daughter of Fred and Eleanor Kissinger, wife of Dan (for forty years), mother of Jeremy, Peter, and Kristin, step-grandma of Issac, and grandma of Justyn.   All of them are important parts of my life, and I am so proud of them!  Life couldn't be any sweeter than to be surrounded by all of my family.

I also love animals, and if I had room, I would have lots more of them, but for now I have Bruiser, a three-year-old fox terrier, who may always bounce off the walls; Cisco, a rescued chihuahua from the Bea Martin Peck Animal Shelter, who has been my little buddy for a year now; and Itchy, a three-legged chihuahua also from the animal shelter, who actually is daughter, Kristin's, pet, but lives with me several months of the year while she's off at college. We have only recently said, "rest sweetly," to my friend of 15 1/2 years, Scout.

My leisure activities include reading, sewing, quilting, and cooking.  I love going camping and traveling to places I've never been.  I grew up on a dairy farm, so vacations were a totally new experience for me!  Volunteering is second-nature to me.  I teach Sunday School at least six months of the year, am a Master 4-H Volunteer, sponsor the Franklin County 4-H Ambassadors (a BIG job!), serve on the board of directors for Fr. Co. 4-H Foundation, Bea Martin Peck Animal Shelter, and executive board of the Fr. Co. Extension Council.

Mathematics is my passion, and teaching is my heart.  I love to learn, and teaching is how I learn best.  I am happiest teaching middle schoolers--and that's what I do.  Life is GOOD!

My Scout, waiting for me to get home.
