Hyperglycemia

What is diabetes hyperglycemia?

Diabetes hyperglycemia
is a level of high blood glucose ("sugar") that is too high.  Hyperglycemia can occur if a diabetes patient does not take enough insulin, eats too much food or is under too much stress.  Also, if they are sick, have an infection or fever, their blood sugar can get too high and out of control.

How much is too high?  Well, that depends on your doctor, but generally blood sugar > 140 is considered too high.
