Dehydration


What is diabetes dehydration?


If a diabetes patient allows their blood glucose ("sugar") level to get too high, their kidney may not adequately process excess glucose in the blood and their body naturally reacts by creating excess urine in order to eliminate the buildup.  Excess urination can lead to dehydration.  When dehydrated, the diabetic my get a headache, feel dizzy or feel faint.
