Shree Dhodia Samaj Welfare Association, Gandhinagar
-:Introduction:- Shree Dhodia Samaj Welfare Association was established on 4th January,1996. The main concept to establish this Association was to be helpful to the members of the Samaj in their difficulties. A member has to register with the Association and an amount of Rs.20/- is required to be deposited by the member every month. In case of death of any family member of the member an amount of Rs.2500/- is given to him which is not required to refund to the Association and in case of of death of the member the amount is Rs.5000/-
In past, it has happend frequently that in case of death of any family member the person was put in trouble due to not having financial sources with him, at that time he has to borrow money from his friends, relatives or some other person to reach to his native. After observing such type of occations many times, the senior persons of the Dhodia Samaj residing in Gandhinagar decided to establish Association. It has also decided to collect monthly fund of Rs.20/- from each registered member so that the fund can be raised.
Association is also take care of the member or his family members who are hospitalised for any type of treatment and in need of money he is being helped upto the amount of Rs.10,000/- at the rate of 12% interest rate and to be refunded in 10 instalments(ofcourse, this could be flexible in bad financial position of the member). On increasing of total fund the above amount is also increased.
Shree Dhodia Samaj Welfare Association also arrange annual get-together function. In this function, prizes are distributed to those Students who achieve First, Second and Third rank in annual Examination. sports and essay competitions and cultural programs are also arranged in this function. Children are encouraged to perform different activities like drama, dance, songs etc. In the end of function, full meal (lunch or dinner) is being given to all members.
During this function the culture of Dhodia community is demonstrated through a drama or dance or any cultural activity. Sometimes some traditional Instruments are also brought and demonstrated in the function.
Over and above Association tries to maintain Dhodia Sanskriti in the Gandhinagar city, so that next generation can be aware of it.
