Spirituality is found in the fullness and reality of our present,
completely embodied human existence. Meditation with the Body, or
somatic meditation is the most powerful and direct way of guiding
modern people into their own spiritual essence and unfolding human
journey. This body of work steers the modern practitioner away from
meditation simply as a mental exercise—which often yields little
personal transformation due to its disembodied nature—toward meditation
that is directed somatically inward, using practices based mostly on
the ancient teachings of Tibetan yoga. Dr. Reggie Ray brings us four decades of study and intensive meditation practice within the Tibetan Buddhist tradition as well as a special gift for applying it to the unique problems, inspirations, and spiritual imperatives of modern people. He resides in Colorado, but teaches in Seattle several times a year. Join Dr. Reggie Ray's senior teachers for sessions of somatic meditation and awareness practice drawn from Tibetan yoga. Teachers will guide participants through a series of meditations, which explore the depths, potential, and transformative power of simply abiding and relaxing within our bodies. Check our calendar or More Info page for upcoming dates and location. Currently we are meeting on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month from 10a to 12 noon at Nalanda West in Wallingford. Please check the calendar for updates as occasionally the dates are moved. We are a self-sustaining group and ask for a $5-10 donation per session to help pay for our space rental and refreshments. However, no one is turned away for lack of funds and this is completely anonymous. Come as you are and able. |
