How would you rate yourself as a roleplayer?
On Subeta they have a term called 'literate'. I think it's a load of hogwash, seeing as the definition of literate is to be able to read and write, and obviously everyone online can do that to some degree. I suppose I would hesitantly class myself as 'advanced'. I'm an above average writer - good, not great - and I have a pretty decent grasp of spelling, punctation, and grammar. Hell, I did a university course on those three things XD I even passed. I can write several paragraphs fairly steadily, know about and abhor Mary Sues, and can generally keep a plot going without hogging the spotlight. However, I do have my off days when my writing just crashes in terms of decency, which I apologise for in advance.
What do you expect in return?
Someone of about the same standard. I don't demand perfection, because hey, this is supposed to be fun and mistakes can and will happen; I just can't handle constant commas in the wrong places, or one liners that don't do anything to help with progress. As well as the writing, I require some general knowledge of what makes a good character and a bad character. I don't want to roleplay with the knife-throwing violet-eyed fiery assassin Rayvn ;___; I really don't. Godmodding makes me bored, and powerplaying makes me annoyed. I don't want to have to say to someone "Sorry, you're not good enough," because that sounds insufferably arrogant, but please consider carefully if you think we'd make good partners in this endeavour.
Nice and friendly people are always a bonus ;)
What kind of things do you like to RP?
If you go back to the main RP page you'll see a link called 'Genres' that outlines it pretty well =3 For general reference, if it's interesting and beyond the norm you'll probably have my interest.
How do you feel about violence and romance?
I am fine with both, to some degree. I am happy to do all pairings (though good luck finding a female character of mine amongst all mah boys anyway xD), and even find romance quite fun, but I am not interested in a purely romantic plot or erotica. No Instant Microwaveable Love, plz. The same goes for violence; action is always fun, but it needs to be balanced out by calmer scenes as well.
How active are you?
This is the bit where I look a little sheepish. Firstly, I'm Australian, meaning I operate in different timezones to a lot of people. This doesn't mean roleplaying isn't possible, though; it just might be a little spaced out. Secondly, I'm a working university student, ergo I can be quite busy, and you'll have to forgive me if I duck out for a few days or a week due to massive assignment/exam swampings. I'll try to give fair warning, though.
There are also times I just plain need a break. One of the best roleplaying relationships I have is with a good friend. We have about three favoured roleplays that we return to repeatedly whenever one or the other is in the mood, interspersed with random side scenarios that can end up only going for an hour or so. While I'm not incapable of long-term 'playing, I occasionally just lose my 'muse' regarding it, and trying to force it ends in writing worth weeping over. In that case it's a good idea for me to take a break altogether or, if this works for you, start another one just for fun. Just to get away from that world for a bit so I can get back in the mindframe.
Are those all your characters?
God no XD Well, they're 'all mine' in that I certainly created them all, but I have dozens floating around. The ones listed are just a handful of my more well-developed critters. So if none of them grab you, don't worry, there's a whole lot more. And if all else fails, I never shy away from creating another.
Can I request something not on the list?
Sure. I'm not a mean and nasty ogre that will maul someone just for suggesting something. But in return, don't be offended if I decline. There are some things I'm just not really interested in.
I'm interested in a character, but not the world they come from. Can I still 'play with them?
I wouldn't rule it out! I'm no stranger to adjusting and transplanting characters for amusement. There are some features that aren't really changeable - for example, Jonah doesn't work for me as a live person - but most can easily be slipped into similar situations quite happily.
So what do I do?
It'd be nice if you had some idea of what you'd like to do, but don't fret if you're undecided. My mediums include e-mail, MSN, and s-mail if you're a Subetan. If you're wanting to do MSN I'd prefer you contacted me at my e-mail of carleighcat@hotmail.com first, just because I don't like adding complete strangers. And then we can negotiate and hopefully get a-playing!
Anything else that should be known?
-I try and throw a bit of variety into my characters, but about 90% end up as young males (anywhere between 10 and 35, usually). The male thing has just always been an issue of mine, and probably indicates deep-seated GENDER TRAUMA. Either that or I'm just weird. The youngness is because...well, I'm young. And I know how my own mindset works better than a 50 year old's. I can play females; it just doesn't happen very often.
-I can play doubles. I can play triples. I can, in fact, play whole swags of characters. But only if needed.
