Training courses:
We offer: Day/residential training Where we visit your house regularly or take your dog to our facilities and train your dog for you. You may want to use this service to teach your dog manners, improve it's problem behaviour, or just to entertain your friend while you are away from home. fun outdoor classes in : As well as one to one help with the following: I also offer behaviour consultations for the more challenging dogs. I teach using positive methods but strongly believe that positive should
NOT mean permissive. I most certainly do not let dogs get away with
anything, I just use my brain to get control them rather than pushing
them around. I use a clicker to train my own dogs and clickers are welcome in all my classes, but they are not a requirement. For more information on clicker training have a look at my Clicker Training page. However a feel for positive training is a must, and I am very picky about my clients. All beginners classes have a maximum of four participants. This means that all the dogs have enough space around them to feel comfortable, and no one in my classes has to sit around for too long waiting for their turn. Severely aggressive or reactive dogs are not suitiable for classes, as they upset the other dogs as well as themselves and learn bad habits through practising aggression. They would need to undergo a thorough vet check and then complete individual lessons until they could cope in a group situation. |
