Welcome

The Devonport Community Garden is a special place tucked away at Mt Cambria Reserve, where people of all ages and
backgrounds come along to do a bit of gardening, learn permaculture principles and organic practices or just hang out over a hot cuppa! There are many different levels of involvement but essentially, we like to think of ourselves as a ‘drop in centre’ for people who enjoy gardening and the community vibe.

Since 2008 we have created raised garden beds, started a compost system and worm farm, spent
many hours planti
ng and weeding...and most recently installed a new composting toilet!

For 2012 we have several exciting projects on the go.  We are currently restoring our old garden shed into a space that will enable us to cook and prepare what we harvest from the garden.  Our Chicken Coop Group is working on
our first urban chicken coop, while the Clay Oven team is working on the last stages of our newly constructed clay oven before the first firing.

We look forward to being a real hub of activity and place for the community to use, especially during the summer months.

We meet every Sunday between 2-4pm so please feel free to come say hello and get stuck in.
