COMPOUND MACHINE

HAIR DRYER

Welcome to our presentation about hair dryer. A hair dryer is one of thousands compound machines. There are many kinds of hair dryer. With electrical component, it sucks cold air, heat the air using its heating elements, and then blow hot air outside.

Now we want to explore about all parts outside and inside a hair dryer.

Outside Parts :

1. Plastic / metal shaped like a gun

2. On-Off Switch

3. Airflow Switch (Medium-High)

4. Cable and Plug

 Inside Parts :

1. A simple motor-driven fan  (left / black)

2. A heating coil  (right / white)

The whole mechanism is really simple:

  1. When you plug in the hair dryer and turn the switch to "on," electric current flows through the hair dryer.
  2. The circuit supplies power to the bare, coiled wire of the heating element, which becomes hot.
  3. The electric current then makes the small electric motor spin, which turns the fan.
  4. The airflow generated by the fan is directed down the barrel of the hairdryer, over and through the heating element.
  5. As the air flows over and through the heated coil, heat rising from the coil warms the air.
  6. The hot air streams out the end of the barrel.

FAN (Motor Driven)

The small black fan sits on top of the motor. The motor spins the fan. Air is drawn in through the openings on the side of the hair dryer.

HEATING COIL

The heating element is composed of coiled nichrome wire on an insulating board.

That’s all of our presentation about Hair dryer. Now if you want to ask a question, just ask it please.
