Left Handed Scissors For Kids. Heyder And Shears. Alligator Shears Left Handed Scissors For Kids
Pet Peeve 23/365 OK...this is a really dumb 365 shot, but this has to be one of my biggest pet peeves and I had a camera with me. Since this has become something of an online journal, I'm going to rant a little bit. My apologies in advance. OK...so...see the line on the right hand side of the screen? You know, the one marked "Match Line." The one that then goes on to tell you that the "Match Line" actually matches at station 5+50? Now...take a look to the left of there and find Station 5+50. It's more than 50 scale feet away from where the "Match Line" is supposed to be matching. On sheet 15, the "Match Line" is about 25 scale feet to the left of Station 5+50. I realize that I'm only a humble estimator and that I have no college education in such matters, but it would seem to me that if one is going to draw a line at the end of a section of plans, label it as a "Match Line" and then continue it on a subsequent page that has a corresponding "Match Line" that those lines should MATCH! This one is actually a little bit better in that it tells where the "Match Line" should be located (at Station 5+50). And even if it hadn't been, it's not a huge deal because there's not a whole lot going on here (just a curb/gutter on one side of the street). I cannot tell you how absolutely livid I get when I'm working on an apartment complex or something equally intricate only to find that after I've taken off one sheet to the "Match Line" that it doesn't match on the next sheet. I've gotten better about training myself to look for such things, but I don't think it should be necessary. So, with that in mind, here are my humble suggestions: 1) The simplest course would be to make the matchlines match. Er go, if I take a pair of scissor and cut out the plan, paying close attention to the "Match Line," I should be able to paste said cut-out on the next sheet at the "Match Line" and have the plan continue on as if it were on the same page. 2) If this isn't possible, please, I beg of any and all architects/engineers in the audience, don't label it a "Match Line!!!!!!" If you simply put "See Sheet 15" without the "Match Line" I'll know that there's an overlap and that you're leaving me to my own devices to match the two sheets up. I've been estimating for nearly 10 years. I assure you I'm capable of this. Likewise, our field supervisors are not the new kids on the block. Some of them have been employed for 40 years. I guarantee you that they'll be OK, too. On the other hand, when I see a "Match Line" that doesn't match anything in particular, I have to call your credibility into account and I wonder about the accuracy of your plans. I know, I know...I blow this way, way, way out of proportion. It's just one of those silly pet peeves in life that sets me off. I apologize for the rant. Thank you for your time. NYC - Union Square - Large Left Handed Drummer
Barry Flanagan’s Large Left Handed Drummer, a 16’ x 9?’ x 8’ bronze sculpture depicting a hare playing a drum stood on display in Union Square Park’s southeast traffic island from February 18 - June 24, 2007, coinciding with an exhibition of his sculptures at Cheslsea's Paul Kasmin Gallery. Flanagan, an internationally renowned British sculptor, is best known for his expressive bronze hares modeled in varying poses of dynamic energy. The series of hares, which he began in 1980, are often engaged in human activities such as playing musical instruments or sports, dancing and interacting with technology. They are often rendered in a monumental scale, as is the Large Left Handed Drummer, with its long wiry limbs and ears that capture a playful and jubilant spirit. Dexterously the Drummer was right handed, there are examples in bronze from that mould in other locations. The left handedness of this Drummer speaks to the other side of the brain, from the past to the future; another tune in composure. Broadway!! A seed of hope after the conviction. I would subtitle this piece ‘I don’t want to set the world on fire.'
