Getting in Shape Feels Great!

Welcome to Physical Education and Health classes. My name is DeShannon Benson. I will be the Health and Physical Education teacher for the 2007-2008 school year at Double Tree Elementary School. I am excited about teaching your child this year.

All children should be given the opportunity to become healthy and physically fit. Given this belief, it is my mission to prepare our students to become healthy and active citizens in the 21st century. This will include educating them to fitness and exercise, nutrition, movement concepts, games and sports, team concepts, personal health and social responsibilities.

	P.E. Rules
	Rules 1. Stop, look, and listen when the teacher is talking. 2. Be ready for P.E. (proper attire, sitting quietly). 3. Be nice to classmates, teacher, and equipment. 4. Try everything and try hard.

Parent Info

P.E. Attire - Please make sure your child wears comfortable clothes and

soft soled shoes on their P.E. days.  Students should not wear flip 
flops, sandals, boots,or dress shoes during class.  These types of 
shoes are not safe to wear during physical activity.

Illness or Injury - If your child is not able to participate due to illness 
or injury, please send a written note.  Be sure to specify how long they

will be unable to participate.
