You have installed Utorrent, configured it and forwarded your ports in your router. Now you are ready to create your first torrent for Demonoid. 1. First log into Demonoid and click on the UPLOAD A TORRENT radio button at the top of the page. You will need the TRACKER URL and also the Torrent Downloaded From Demonoid.com.txt.   Do not use " open with ", make sure you choose " save ". 2. Once you have saved the text file , scroll on down on this page and place a check mark in the box where it says "I understand and agree to the rules" then use the drop down box to choose a category for the type of torrent you plan on uploading. I will be making a music torrent file so I have chosen the category MUSIC. After you do this on the far right bottom of the page click NEXT STEP.  3. You will arrive at this page after you click next step. This is where you can obtain the tracker url you will need when creating your torrent. Demonoid changes its tracker url from time to time so please always use this page to make certain you have the latest updated tracker url before creating your torrent. As you can see the tracker url for now is http://inferno.demonoid.com:3391/announce We will be adding that tracker url to our UTORRENT TRACKER ADDRESS in step 4 below. Now that we have the url, it is time to open Utorrent and begin to create our torrent.  4. First place the Torrent Downloaded From Demonoid.com.txt file you downloaded earlier INSIDE your folder of files you are going to be creating your torrent from. This is a very important step and must not be skipped.  Now you can open Utorrent and go to FILE and use the drop down box and choose Create New Torrent  A window will appear. In this window where it says Torrent Properties: Trackers is where you should place the tracker url you found earlier. http://inferno.demonoid.com:3391/announce At the top pf that window under Select Source , choose Add Directory and use the drop down box to browse to the location of your folder of files. Select the folder you want to create the torrent from and hit ok.  Once you have hit ok you will see the next window. Make sure your tracker url is correct. Choose if you want the torrent you are about to create to be private or not. Also be sure that start seeding the torrent is unchecked and that piece size is set to auto detect. Once you are satisfied that all is correct hit the Create and save as radio button.  You will see the following: Utorrent is creating your torrent. You can see the progress at the bottom. When it has finished creating the torrent, it will ask you where to save the torrent file. I always suggest for newbies to save the file on the desktop. It is easier to locate that way.  Save the newly created torrent to your desktop. Hit SAVE  Once it is saved to your desktop you will see this :  This is your newly created torrent file. This is the file you will to upload to Demonoid. You can close the create torrent window now. It is time to upload your torrent to Demonoid. You can see how to do that here. |
