Welcome Parents/Guardians to the Parent Teacher Support Group! Many of you may know of the term PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) as the group of parents who work together to bring funds into a school. Our version of the PTO here at Delaware Trail Elementary – known as the Parent Teacher Support Group (PTSG) is made up of men and women working together to create an atmosphere where teachers and administrators can do their best work – and so can our children. Our goal is to help create a better school and a better education experience for our children; we do this by volunteering and by offering opportunities that help us raise funds that go directly into the school. Here is what we hope to do this year with your help: · Aid teachers by providing over $7,200 in needed classroom supplies and teaching aides · Provide $2,700 ($4.50 for each student) towards the cost of a class field trip · Contribute $1,500 to the 5th grade students to attend the Junior Achievement Biz Town · Maintain the school library by donating books and supplying volunteer librarians. · Offer $1,500 towards the character education program and Red Ribbon Week · Enhance the school community by organizing and running a school skating party (admission is free/ students pay skate rental) · Provide supportive and caring volunteers that makes the school atmosphere fun
We made a decision a few years back to ensure that you received valuable goods for your money. We have only one fundraiser (DOG JOG) where we ask for your donations. All other opportunities will result in the purchase of good/services for a reasonable price. We receive a % of the proceeds of sales to pay for these examples above.
We realize your hard earned money is important to you and we hope you feel the options we offer are worth the price. If you do not want to contribute or purchase, that is OK too. We just want you to know that your valuable contributions are put back into our school (minus cost of good/services).

Our objectives can be achieved by every parent/guardian becoming involved. We hope you can commit time over this school year to participate with us!
