Sandy, N8YS at: delawarefieldday@gmail.com and put 'ADD ME' in the subject line, as updates go out, you will be notified.
WHAT EXACTLY IS ARRL FIELD DAY?
Every year on the last full weekend in June, the ARRL Field Day (American Radio Relay League) over 35,000 Amateur Radio operators all over the US and Canada set up a 'field location' which would consist of radios, antennas, generators and whatever else it takes to operate your radio as if you were without conventional means of power as would be the case in disaster scenarios, whether they be natural or terrorist.
Our goal is to be ready for any emergency where loss of communication is an issue. If the EMA, Red Cross or any other organization that needs our help calls us, we will be ready to set up and operate in short order.
WHAT DOES IT DO FOR ME?
If you're a ham radio operator, it will help you hone your radio emergency skills, if you're an operator who hasn't 'played' radio lately or could use a little guidance, we can help with that, too!
If you're NOT a ham, and just want to see what Amateur Radio is all about, then this is a great event for you, as well. We have many experienced operators that would be happy to let you talk or observe, we have the GOTA station (Get On The Air) which helps non-licensed folks (children & adults) and non active hams Get On The Air and talk all over the world.

YOUR MISSION IF YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT IT WILL BE.......
To work as many stations as possible on any and all amateur bands (excluding the 60, 30, 17, and 12-meter bands) and to learn to operate in abnormal situations in less than optimal conditions. Field Day is open to all amateurs in the areas covered by the ARRL/RAC Field Organizations and countries within IARU Region 2. DX stations residing in other regions may be contacted for credit, but are not eligible to submit entries.
