THIS IS HOME! WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA, NEAR DUPONT'S HIGH FALLS.
Welcome to Dehaluyi Books, Etc.
We have been selling on eBay and half.com for a few years now. Awhile back, we had our ME page pulled from eBay because we listed some of the authors, artists, musicians, etc, that many REAL Native websites list as being either FAKES, CHARLATANS, who misrepresent themselves in some way, who are known as PLASTIC SHAMANS, or who sell Indian culture, ceremony, or products that are NOT sanctioned by the Tribes that these people CLAIM to be members of.
Some of these people are just misled, some are "WANNABES" (Whites who want to be Indian), some are self-proclaimed New Age teachers of ceremony, some are worse, because some are indeed REAL Indians who have decided to CASH IN on the glut for anything Indian.
MANY (most?), however, are not even Native, nor members of any FEDERALLY recognized Tribe! The point is, if NATIVE People have determined that these people do NOT properly represent their Indigenous Tribes, if REAL Indians have taken offence to these people's MISUSE of any part of their cultures or ceremony, or of the using of their Tribal names to SELL something, then eBay, in our opinion, has NO right to disallow the warnings on their site that appear on so very many NATIVE sites! Last we heard, eBay is NOT a Federally recognized Indigenous Nation, or Tribe! Last I heard there is still SOVEREIGNTY granted for self-government to the Tribes! For a NON-Native entity of ANY kind to DENY the RIGHTS of Natives to speak out against EXPLOITERS of Indian cultures is undeniably WRONG!
As neighbors, citizens, friends, etc, we all want to feel safe where we live, and so we all tend to be watchful in our own neighborhoods, communities, and groups, to help one another stay safe.
As Indigenous People, all that the Sovereign Nations of Native People want to do is keep THEIR communities safe, to keep THEIR cultures from harm! Just as no one would want someone pretending to be a member of THEIR Families and then committing a crime, or doing anything to bring shame or disgrace on THEIR Families, using THEIR names, so it is with Indian People. Why eBay, or ANY entity, APPARENTLY doesn't agree that Native People have the same rights to protect their TRIBAL names and cultures that other races have to protect THEIR names & cultures is beyond me! So, that is what this web page was mainly developed for... to state what eBay refuses to allow me to state on their site. We also hope to post facts not known about Indigenous culture, about the legality of selling or buying certain Native items, and about the misconceptions many people have about North American Indigenous People. This will be a work in progress, so check back often for changes.
And now for THE LIST!
The following is a list I gleaned over many days, weeks, months from NUMEROUS NATIVE websites, from news articles, magazine articles, etc, and is NOT a list that I myself made up. I will post some of the links to some of the websites, but anyone can find these lists by doing a Google search for things like Plastic Shamans, Fake Indian authors, "claims to be Indian, or Native American", and a plethora of other keywords. If an author or musician is listed on a "New Age" website, BEWARE! If a person CLAIMS Tribal affiliation, check them out! If a person claims affiliation to a NON-Federally recognized "tribe" (such as the "Wolf" Tribe, "Rainbow Tribe", or any tribe you can see is NOT on the BIA (Bureau of Indian Affairs) list of known and/or recognized Tribes, BEWARE!
If you have any doubts about ANY author, artist, or musician, simply CALL THE TRIBE which these people claim to be affiliated with. You can Google ANY Tribe, or go to the government website listed below for a list of Tribal addresses and phone numbers. Please remember, I did NOT create this list... the Tribes did! Onward!
Taken from NUMEROUS websites run by REAL INDIANS, activist groups, etc, this is THEIR list of KNOWN fakes, frauds, sellers of FALSE Indian doctrine, belief, ceremony, & so-called wisdom, in either books, website writings, brochures, etc. This list is from websites that strive to STOP the Cultural GENOCIDE, the THEFT of Native American Spirituality, Customs, Ceremony, & Beliefs. These people have been EXPOSED, contacted by Tribal leaders in almost ALL instances, & asked to CEASE & DESIST in their continuous FALSE TEACHINGS, yet they each continue to pump out those books, newsletters, offers on their websites, etc. PLEASE, PLEASE, do NOT be guilty of aiding & abetting these authors! Refuse to buy!

Thank you for the information on Morgan "Eaglebear" Maez. Mr. Maez is
being promoted and making appearances as a "great great grandson of
Geronimo" and as one of the few medicine men of the Apache Nation
given the responsibility to reach out to the non-Native American
nations."
The only direct descendants of Geronimo are through his family at
Mescalero, New Mexico. Of the several Apache nations, the only ones
connected with Geronimo are the Fort Sill Apache Tribe in Oklahoma,
and the Mescalero Apache Tribe in New Mexico. These tribes would be
familiar with their own ceremonial people. Morgan "Eaglebear" Maez
is NOT enrolled with either tribe.
1. Morgan "Eaglebear" Maez is NOT a descendant of Geronimo.
2. Morgan "Eaglebear" Maez is NOT an Apache Medicine Man.
Those who make false claims of connections with our tribe or with our
historical leaders for promotional purposes are exploiting our tribe and
American Indian people; and they are being profoundly disrespectful of our
native religion. We hope Mr. Maez can continue his devotion to helping
people but will do so in a non-exploitive manner and with proper respect
to the Apache religion and to our tribal leaders.
Sincerely,
Ruey H. Darrow
Chairperson

FACTS :
1~ "American Indian" and/or "Native American" are both misnomers! This continent was NOT called "America" before the first boats arrived! "America" was named for an Italian mapmaker, Amerigo Vespucci! Indigenous People are NOT Italian! And "Indian" is also a misnomer because old Cris Columbus was LOST, thought he'd arrived in INDIA! No, Cris, no INDIA here! So, what do you call those whose ancestry goes back for millenia on this continent? Try using their OWN names! Lakota, Brule, Oglala, Tsalagi, Aniyunwiyv, Dine, etc. Yes, some are a little hard to pronounce, but so was English to the first Natives who had to learn it! True, most Natives won't get furious if you call them Indians, or Native Americans, but SOME will!
2~ NO two Tribes are alike! Not even any two Clans are exactly alike! Not ALL Natives do ANYTHING the same! Just like English are NOT French, so a Dine is NOT Aniyunwiyv! There is no way you can lump ALL Natives together!
3~ There is no such thing as an Indian "religion". Every individual Tribe ( there are over 500 of them!) has a unique way of conducting cermonies. "Worship" is not a proper English translation for what Native People do. However, what they do IS sacred, let me repeat, SACRED to them! There are things in Native cultures that NON-Indigenous People were NEVER meant to take part in! There are ceremonies TOTALLY private, TOTALLY for the Tribal Members & NO outsiders should seek entrance to , or even knowledge of these ceremonies. Though this is my private opinion, I know MANY who agree. Please read : http://www.homestead.com/arvollookinghorse/Other_Stmts_Chief_Arvol_Mar2003.html. Just as NON-Indians have the right to private FAMILY times, private lives, privacy PERIOD, so do Native People have that right! And just as we would never come to YOUR home and demand entrance to YOUR private moments, PLEASE understand when Natives say "PRIVATE CEREMONY", and don't DEMAND that we "share"! Many think we've already "shared" quite enough! With so many of Native Sacred Places turned into "recreational areas", "state parks", "national parks", or simply destroyed or built-over, it isn't too much to ask that at least SOME of what is left remain PRIVATE, is it?
4~ "American Indians" are the ONLY People in America who MUST be "recognized" by the Federal government. To BE "Indian", one must "register" as Indian! You know, sort of like you "register" your purebred animals! There are SET BLOOD QUANTUMS in every Tribe/Sovereign Nation, varying from one Tribe to the next. One must PROVE a degree of "Indian" blood in order to be considered a "member" of that Tribe! Or, one must PROVE a link to someone on one of the many "ROLLS" put together by the U.S. Government when they began to steal Native lands, break EVERY treaty they ever made with EVERY Tribe, and send the "Indians" away to camp...I mean , put them on reservations! In the Eastern Band Cherokee Nation in North Carolina, if you are not BORN to a Tribal member AND "registered" before your 18th birthday, guess what? You are NOT Eastern Band Cherokee! I don't care if both your parents' Families were PURE Aniyunwiyv all the way back to CREATION, if you don't meet the criteria set by Council, FORGET IT! The Council decided on the first version of this requirement back in the 1950s! Many other Tribes want you to provide a "paper trail", documents that PROVE you are "Jane Doe", daughter of "Joe Doe", son of "John Doe", etc. But the Tribes know that up until the 1950s or so, MOST births occurred at home, & few parents bothered to get a "birth certificate"! Or "marriage license", or "death certificate", or any other paper document! It just was NOT a part of the culture! And most folks LIVED by their culture before Uncle Sam got involved! Another thing the Tribes know is that MANY Native People got NEW & improved ENGLISH names! HOW can anyone trace a relative who had more than ONE name when the ORIGINAL name was ERASED & replaced by a WHITE name? Also see this website: http://democrats.senate.gov/dpc/dpc-new.cfm?doc_name=sr-108-2-283 and read under the heading, Historical Obstacles to Indian Voting. Natives weren't even CITIZENS until 1926, so how many "documents" could possibly exist in most Indigenous Families? See? It isn't easy being Indigenous People!
RED EARTH, WHITE LIES
Vine Deloria, Jr., sorrow at his passing & peace to his ashes, was my hero. He grated on some nerves, mainly the White intellectuals & so-called scientists. Deloria was highly educated, a college professor. He was also "red". He wrote as he lived, and wrote what he knew from living & searching for TRUTH.
Most
white reviewers, or critics, take issue with his head-on way of
addressing the issues he covers in many of his books. They say he
doesn't use "scientific evidence", or that he "doesn't really know his
subject". I would ask, isn't MOST "scientific evidence" based on
THEORY, educated CONJECTURE, or handed-down & often manipulated
"findings" that just are NOT 'found' by ALL?
In RED EARTH, WHITE
LIES, Deloria outright accuses the scientific community of not only
racism, & ethnic bias, but absolute lies. The scientific community
says the same of Deloria, so who do we believe? Deloria seems to think
that the scientists have been proven wrong by other scientists, &
that those other scientists are then ridiculed & ostracized by the
more learned scientists. WHO voted on which scientist is the most
believable, the most learned? WHO has actually PROVEN that the Bering
Strait Land Bridge THEORY is fact? Is there scientist ONE who was
THERE? For a thing that supposedly opened up so many times, every time
scientists NEED it as an explanation for something or someone coming to
this continent, isn't it a wonder that we haven't seen it "open up" in
the last several THOUSAND years? Think about that.
What makes
a WHITE theory better than a RED one? Much of what is called scientific
knowledge was handed down from guys who are dead now. So were Indian
ORAL traditions! WHO decides which group of dead guys was the one to
rely on? Is what was SEEN & told less credible than what was
"THEORIZED" & written?
And who among today's "experts" & "scientists" WAS here back when all that
megafauna was suppoedly wiped out? WHO actually OBSERVED that?
I think the fossil record STILL shows a mass die-off of large animals up around SIBERIA & across the pond! MASS die-off! Was it a COMET? Comets also come in handy when "science" wants to explain something away! I think the ancestral scientist were still scribbling on cave walls in France or somewhere in Europe when the NATIVE/INDIGENOUS PEOPLE of THIS hemisphere SAW with their OWN EYES what REALLY happened OVER HERE all those millenia ago! And about those cave drawings...did you ever notice that so MANY of the stick figures that represented humans have HEADDRESSES ON??? Go look for yourselves! FEATHERED HEADDRESSES!
JUST ONE OF THOSE PETROGLYPHS I MENTIONED...NOT FROM THE "AMERICAS", FOLKS!;)
So, maybe the Bering Strait land bridge mystery is all BACKWARD?!? Did INDIANS populate ASIA & EUROPE? MEA CULPA! What AM I thinking! Questions, questions, & who has the REAL answers? More importantly,
who has the right to decide for ALL of us on ANYTHING? To some, all the
so-called scientific knowledge accumulated thus far is a total bunch of
DRIVEL! To others, it is law & gospel. SO WHAT?
I won't ask you to see things MY way, but , in return, don't insist I see them YOUR way!
Read, think, decide for yourself.
BLOOD ALLELE
Please look carefully at the map below. It shows the distribution of the "O" allele throughout the world. PLEASE NOTICE that the concentration of the highest incidence of this "O" allele lies in SOUTH, CENTRAL< & Southwestern NORTH AMERICA, with another distinct band of 90-100% "O" allele found stretching from Alaska into Canada! These BLUE areas just happen to be areas of highest INDIGENOUS/INDIAN concentration! Also PLEASE NOTE that thee is LESS of this "O' allele in ASIA! IF the White, accepted THEORY of INDIGENOUS/INDIAN origin, that Indian People came across the Bering Strait from Asia, were FACT, then wouldn't one expect to see an almost PURE , that is 100% concentration of the "O" allele in "parent" Asia? Instead we can plainly see that the most nearly PURE, i.e. 90-100%, concentration of that "O" allele is where INDIAN PEOPLE, NOT ASIAN PEOPLE are. ALL of North America has higher population levels of the "O", as do, not remarkably, a few areas of AUSTRALIA, where other "ABORIGINE" populations are concentrated! Bering land bridge? I don't think so! I think that, like many Native Tribes will tell you, SOUTH is HOME, SOUTH, NOT WEST!
NOW let's look at the "B" allele! Please notice where the highest concentration of THIS allele occur! ASIA! And look where there is NO, or almost NO "B" allele! THE so-called AMERICAS & AUSTRALIA! Yet again, we have the facts right in front of us! Note again, please, that "B" is highest in
Central Asia and lowest in the Americas and Australia. However, there are
relatively high frequency pockets in Africa as well. Overall in the
world, "B" is the rarest ABO blood allele.
Only 16% of humanity have it! It is MOST uncommon, i.e. very SELDOMLY or NEVER found amongst TRUE NATIVE "AMERICAN INDIANS"!
The last of the three alleles is "A". And here's the distribution map for "A". "A" must be a European genetic choice! But there's some fairly high concentrations in ASIA! But, LOOK! HARDLY ANY, IF ANY AT ALL, IN SOUTH AMERICA, & barely enough to mention in LOWER NORTH AMERICA , OR CENTRAL AMERICA! HMMMMM! Let's review this! A MEDIUM concentration of "A" in ASIA, & HARDLY ANY WHERE THE GREATEST INDIGENOUS/INDIAN POPULATION IS FOUND! Amazing, isn't it! IF ASIA was "parent" to North America's INDIGENOUS PEOPLE, one just MIGHT expect to see as much "A" in the lower regions of the Western World as there is in "Mother Asia", don't you think? The "A" blood allele is more common around the world than "B". About 21% of earth's population share the "A"allele. The highest frequency of "A"are found in small, UNRELATED populations, especially the Australian Aborigines, the Lapps, or Saami people of Northern Scandinavia! The "A" allele is apparently ABSENT among Central & South American Indians!!!
Put all this together & what do we see? That the INDIGENOUS POPULATION OF THE "AMERICAS" HAVE THAT "O" ALLELE & ONLY THAT "O" ALLELE IN COMMON! And ASIANS? Well, ASIANS can be ANY of the 3 types! ASIANS can, BUT INDIANS WITHOUT NON-INDIAN ANCESTRY CANNOT! The ONE allele shared by so many Native/Indigenous Peoples is "O", & the further SOUTH one goes, the more evident this is! SOUTH, NOT WEST!
ADDED APRIL 22,2008
If you haven't read or heard about the finds down Mexico way, and the resulting COVER-UP, take a look!
Here's just one site worth reading:
http://nersp.nerdc.ufl.edu/~ghi/fachap.html
It reads in part:
In the 1960s, anthropologists uncovered advanced stone tools at Hueyatlaco, Mexico. Geologist Virginia Steen-McIntyre and other members of a U.S. Geological Survey team obtained an age of about 250,000 years for the sites implement-bearing layers. This challenged not only standard views of New World anthropology but also the whole standard picture of human origins. Humans capable of making the kind of tools found at Hueyatlaco are not thought to have come into existence until around 100,000 years ago in Africa.
Virginia Steen-McIntyre experienced difficulty in getting her dating study on Hueyatlaco published. "The problem as I see it is much bigger than Hueyatlaco," she wrote to Estella Leopold, associate editor of Quaternary Research. "It concerns the manipulation of scientific thought through the suppression of 'Enigmatic Data,' data that challenges the prevailing mode of thinking. Hueyatlaco certainly does that! Not being an anthropologist, I didn't realize the full significance of our dates back in 1973, nor how deeply woven into our thought the current theory of human evolution has become. Our work at Hueyatlaco has been rejected by most archaeologists because it contradicts that theory, period."
Exactly what Native Peoples have been saying all along! Exactly what Deloria accused the scientific community of!
THIS IS OUR HOMELAND. THESE ARE MY MOUNTAINS!
| UPDATE 04/22/2009: Here's a typical email I get from those who don't agree with Native People protecting their culture, & I do get a LOT of these because people just won't believe that the TRIBES THEMSELVES post these lists of PLASTICS. This one came from an ebay member, as so many do. I highlighted the misspelled words: |
| Dear dehaluyi, I found your page in the internet listing people and claiming then to be phonys. I know some of the people that you claim to be phonys and they are backed by Lenard Crowdog. Do you think Crowdog is a phony? How do you keep from a lawsuite ? What have you done to help the people other than terringdown people you know nothing about? I just hope for your sake you have nothing to lose with your libious actions. ~end quote~ Take it up with the TRIBES! Their phone numbers & addresses are public all over the internet! JUST GOOGLE IT!! If you email me I'm just going to give you back what you give me, so if you don't WANT disrespect, then don't come my way with it! And if you do write me, USE SPELLCHECK, PLEASE! |
