The Department offers and coordinates with in the campus

·        One credit program of thirty hours to the second year students of all disciplines that has 6 hours in campus program and 24 hours off campus or community centric activity

·        In-house component consists of training students in to three aspects – ASK – taking the subject specific knowledge to the people in the neighborhood.

Ø      Attitude – Value orientation the students should have when approaching the community

Ø      Skills – List of skill in making the Extension Education Effective.

Ø      Knowledge – Kinds of Social Analysis, Concept of Extension Education

·        Offers groups experience to students by getting them membership in to various groups and clubs like NCC, NSS, Red Ribbon, AICUF, Media Forum, Fine Arts, Red Cross, Mattru Nadaga Iyakkam, Rotract, Citizen Consumer Club, and Rover.

·        The Department coordinates the Students service programs like Vazhikatti (Career Guidance Cell), and Counseling.

·        Formation and coordination of interdisciplinary team in carrying out specific Extension project and action research.

The above activities enable student to carry the knowledge to the society. We equip the students with communication, theatrics, leadership and community organization skills.
