I went  in Mexico for a few days.  Katie and I had an orchestra job at a winery in Ensenada.  Read about it here. We had TONS of fun!  During our free time, we shopped.  So, I have new sources for clothing that will be fabulous!!!  More custom work with crocheting and embroidered items.

August will bring many changes for me as a doll collector.  Be watching this page and the homepage for some exciting news!

A Bit about ME

HOME:  Paul is my  great, supportive husband (we've been married since 1975) who is an attorney here in San Diego.  We have two children (Katie and son Jaemin) who are both Korea-born.   Bennie is our spoiled Maltese-Bichon mix.  We like to say that nobody in our house is related by blood; we are stuck by love.

HOBBIES:  I'm an avid swimmer.  My favorite relaxation is Soap Operas or the Sci Fi channel.  (Give me a guy with a sword and a dragon, and I'm hooked.)

NOTE:  This is my first complete website.  The only other one that I ever worked on was the art schematics for Tammylee: Buns of Steel.  Have you seen it?

DOLLS:  I've collected Himstedts for 20+ years.  I  met Annette a couple times for doll signings.  The most memorable was when I had my Korean-adopted daughter, Katie, with me.  At two years old, she was a charmer, but not especially happy to stand in line all afternoon.  So, when Annette was snapping photos,  she captured  Katie's serious "Ai Lien"  pout  on the 2005 doll.  Since this event happened 13 years before the sculpt appeared, Annette couldn't say "Yes, this was your daughter."  But, I have no doubt--from the hairstyle and cut, the stubborn face, to the colors chosen for the dress:  that's my toddler, Katie.

PROFESSIONAL CAREER:  BK (Before Kids) I was an elementary music teacher and band director.  I've kept up my performance as a classical musician in local orchestras and chamber groups.    My experience in doll repair comes from the mechanics and care of woodwind instruments.  I'm a self-taught artist in paints, clay/modeling, and woodworking.
