Denise Grady has been a reporter in the science news department of The New York Times since 1998. In that time, she has written more than 500 stories about medicine and biology, and has also edited two New York Times books for adults. She also has worked on the staff of several prominent science publications, including the New England Journal of Medicine, Discover magazine, and The Sciences. Throughout her career, she has received numerous awards for her science journalism.
