- 11/17: A13 is the final homework assignment, covering chapters 6, 7, 8 and 9.
- 11/6: We finished through 5.5 this Friday, 11/6. We'll cover 5.6 and take questions next Tuesday, review on Thursday, and take the Chapter 4-5 Exam on Friday, 11/13. All homework due that week will be due the day of the exam.
- 10/30: A12 below is the homework for chapter 5. The number of problems is about 1/2 that of previous assignments. This is done in order to allow you extra time to learn the important concepts and processes of each problem.
- 10/29: 9:00 AM Thursday. Class may be cancelled tonight. I'll post the final decision here by 2:30 PM. UCCS has cancelled classes before noon but it is whiteout conditions at my house and my road has not been cleared. Should this continue until 2:30, which is when I'd have to leave to be in class, then I'll have no choice but to cancel class. Check back here around 2:30. Stay warm and safe!
- 10/27: For anyone wishing to withdraw w/o a grade: You must do so by Oct. 30. After that you must explain your reasons to the Dean and they must have been beyond your control. I have left signed drop slips with the Math Dept. Secretary so you don't need to wait to catch me on campus.
- 10/23: A11 below is a practice exam for chapters 4 & 5. It begins with questions from an old exam of my own, for which you have no solutions, and ends with two practice tests from the book's publisher. The later two tests are complete with solutions. Be sure to look over these far enough in advance of the exam to be able to ask questions in class or solitict help via email.
- 10/22: A tentative schedule for the remainder of the semester is posted below. There is little slack so we must work to stay on this schedule. To do this I repeat my recommendation from earlier in the semester: Trigonometry is covered very quickly and most students will need to read well ahead of the class in order to maintain the pace. Trigonometry is covered in chapters 5 and 6, which is on the near horizon.
- 10/17: A10 is the homework for chapter 4.
- 10/16: By popular request the Chapter 3 Exam is potponed until next Tuesday, 10/21. However, we must begin Chapter 4 on Friday, 10/17. We won't have time in class for any additional questions on chapter 3 but I can stay as long after class as is reasonable and answer your questions then.
- 10/14: As we completed sections 3.6-3.7 in class Tuesday they will also be included on the forthcoiming exam and homework.
- 10/10: A09 is a summary of the ideas discussed in class about graphing rational functions, as promised in class.
- 10/10: The Chapter 3 exam is postponed until Friday, 10/17. The remainder of the homework is due then as well. Please take advantage of this to improve your mastery of the material. If you don't wish/need review on Thursday, 10/16, then we will begin chapter 4 but that material will not be included in this Chapter 3 exam.
