9/15: PLEASE: If you send me email, identify your class and your first AND last name. I am teaching 5 math classes! Please don't make me check the rosters of all 5 every time I get an email.
9/5: We are in a World Health Organization Level 6 Pandemic Flu at this time. Effective immediately and continuing until WHO and CDC lower the threat level, the absenteeism policies about tests and homework, which affect your ability to stay home when you are ill or need to care of an ill family member, are suspended. If you develop flu-like symptoms, please notify me immediately and by all means stay home and see a doctor. General medical advice is to not return to class until your fever or other flu-like symptoms have been gone for at least 24 hours...that is on their own, not counting their reduction by drugs. A doctor’s note will not be required. The reason for such a policy is self-evident.
8/16: Check out http://www.wolframalpha.com/ as a useful study and homework aid. Try typing solve 0=x^2+5x+6 into the Wolfram window and hit enter. Then select "show steps" and see if you can follow what they did.
