David Davis is the author of ten published picture books to date. He's published pen-and-ink artwork, cartoons, poems, humor, and short stories in various magazines and newspapers. His efforts earned him an award from the Mississippi Press Association for his political cartoons. He is the creator of "Travels With Grandpaw," an internet comic strip about growing up in Texas with his grandfather. David is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
With Redneck Night Before Christmas, Trucker's Night Before Christmas, and Nurse's Night Before Christmas, Davis established himself as a writer of humor that appeals to both children and adults. His book Jazz Cats was a 2002 International Reading Association/Children's Book Council Children's Choice Top 100 selection. His counting picture book Ten Redneck Babies was a 2005 International Reading Association/Children's Book Council Children's Choice Top 100 Selection. His Texas Mother Goose and Texas Aesop's Fables became instant favorites. David lives in Fort Worth, Texas. He makes regular school, library, and conference presentations.
