Sr. Project Manager w/ HR domain and Data background - DC Metro Area

Responsibilities

Your role will include, but will not be limited to the following:

§         Perform the role of project manager / implementation consultant and technical expert for large HRIT implementations in the Federal Government sector.

§         Conduct design and analysis, drive requirements gathering and analyzing the requirements/data, designing solutions/business processes.

§         Conduct assessments of client organizations to profile their software configuration requirements and assess their readiness for change/transition.

§         Redesign and implement new workflows and processes within client organizations as necessary.

§         Implement COTS performance management solution in client organizations (technology consulting, training, software implementation and problem solving).

§         Support software tool functionality improvements.

§         Assist with developing proposals, work plans, schedules, pricing and implementation strategies.

§         Develop client general and client specific training and training materials.

§         Identify obstacles to implementation and develop strategies to overcome.

§         Support software and system testing during development and installation.

§         Develop and maintain system documentation.

§         Mentor and develop team members focused on PMP, software development, customization and support.

§         Development of contract documents and supporting articles for contract execution.

§         Provide strategic leadership in supporting the client through early problem detection, idea generation, developing creative solution and advising on best-in-class practices. 

§         Identify and suggest opportunities for enhancement including system, process efficiency and effectiveness, performance and cycle time improvement, etc. 

§         Work collaboratively with other entities to achieve overall program success.  Assist others to solve problems, address needs and become successful.

§         Manage program risk from a technical, budget, schedule, and outcome perspective.

§         Assign and manage appropriate staff and other resources. 

§         Perform and act at all times consistent with company's mission, values, and strategies.

§         Create and maintain a culture of customer service, innovation and problem solving.

§         Facilitate discussion and issue resolution between the client, business teams and the IT project team.

Required Elements

  • 7- 10 years of relevant experience in Program / Project Management in rolling out multi-million dollar engagements.
  • Previous employment with a leading software product / solutions / consulting company. 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • 4-6 years experience in QA Testing and/or related degree.  Minimum of 3 years data warehousing experience, ETL experience is a must
  • Strong, end-to-end understanding and experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and processes for software testing / quality assurance guidelines
  • Full lifecycle design, development in Oracle database and/or dimensional data modeling, data dictionary and meta data repository.
  • History of successful analysis, metrics, risk / cost / change management skills
  • Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies. - Extensive experience with data warehouse applications.
  • Direct hands-on experience with ad hoc query programs and automated testing tools
  • Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts.
  • Proven data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with statistical reporting and analysis.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Able to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Keen attention to detail and follow through.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Technical knowledge and experiences in several areas including: Testing ETL sessions and PL/SQL scripts in data warehouse applications.
  • At least two years of experience rolling out / implementing performance management solutions like Plateau, Success Factors, Peoplesoft ePerformance, Saba.
  • Performance management, HR, Human Capital or related experience.
  • Technology and organizational process/software implementation.
  • Experience in government implementations.
  • Experience in a rapid paced, time sensitive, high quality environment.
  • Strong problem solving capabilities and the ability to visualize and communicate solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Technical Competencies

§         Performance Management COTS experience - Plateau, Success Factors, PeopleSoft ePerformance or Saba.

§         Proficient with MS Office Tools (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio).
