Informatica ETL Developer - Fairfax, VA

Responsibilities 
- Interpret the transformation rules for all target data objects and develop the software components to support the transformation. 
- Automate the ETL process through scheduling and exception-handling routines as well as source to target mapping development, support, and maintenance. 
- Deploy an error management mechanism to capture all relevant error information and associate data in a manner that can be re-processed independently. 
- Provide thorough metrics to measure progress and accuracy of data transfers. 
- Deploy data cleansing requirements 
- Develop an understanding of clients' business and suggest effective programming solutions. 
- Develop positive and productive relationships with client personnel and team. 

Required Experience 
- Over 4-5 years ETL development background. 
- Three years of hands-on experience with Informatica application for the ETL tools; certification highly desired. 
- Experienced in best practices design of ETL implementations in a high volume environment, including ETL software, database and hardware tuning. 
- Applicant should be knowledgeable and experienced in all types of data modeling, including strong dimensional modeling techniques. 
- Experience with data quality tools and knowledgeable in data quality approaches and techniques. 
- Four or more years of experience in data management or computer programming. 
- Experience working with relational databases & programming concepts. 
- Detailed knowledge of Data Warehouse and Data Mart physical RDBMS schemata. 
- Excellent working knowledge of RDBMS and other data technologies e.g., Oracle, Unix, IDMS 
- Working knowledge of SQL Server, IBM DB2, UDB), XSLT, Java, J2EE. 
- Strong shell scripting experience. 
- Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements. 
- Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. 
- Technical documentation development skills. 
- Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language. 
- Ability to document system processes and procedures in a clear manner. 
- Self motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail. 
- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. 
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. 

Desired Elements 
- Security clearance desired. 
- Bachelor’s degree in data management, computer science or related field.
