DCCA/CRB

 Community Revitalization and Beautification
A newly formed committee has been established under the Dale City Civic Association, titled: “Community Revitalization and Beautification (CRB)”.  The mission of DCCA/CRB is to improve the quality of life of our Dale City residents and visitors by presenting a positive image and a sense of pride in our environment as a desirable and safe place to live, shop, work, and play through beautification and revitalization of our community.
The Chairperson for DCCA/CRB is Kelly Easterly, Chief of Staff to Supervisor John Jenkins.  The goal of CRB includes developing a working relationship with our neighborhoods and businesses and county government to form an attractive and safe environment for all.

Communication with our residents will be presented here on the DCCA website as well as other media in the future.

If you would like to become a part of DCCA/CRB and bring our plans to fruition, please contact Connie Moser at : moserconnie@hotmail.com or call 703 590 6662 or email Linda Gosnell at lsgosnell123@yahoo.com to become a part of the solution!

DCCA/CRB Recognizes Partners in our Community.

The Lindendale Community has a wooded area where Connie Moser planted Blackeyed Susans, Shasta Daisies and Purple Coneflowers. The Lindendale Community Group has claimed that area as one of their
Adopt a Spots. When NOVEC installed new underground lines, there was a large amount of debris and branches left behind. Connie contacted NOVEC and requested they return to remove the dead limbs and foliage and replant grass in the bare spots. Junior Martin came out to assess the situation. He then requested Richard White comply with the request. When NOVEC returned to repair the damage, they also cleared the undergrowth and many other downed limbs and branches, and leveled the ground so it was easier to mow. This action resulted in a more beautiful area and since the sight line was much improved, offered safety and security to the many pedestrians who travel that road.

Kelly Easterly, Chair of DCCA/CRB, presents an award for outstanding
customer service to Donna Snellings, Public Relations Liaison for NOVEC.
Donna was instrumental in facilitating a brush clearing of an overgrown area,
after NOVEC installed new lines in the Lindendale Community.

Skip Hollcroft, Manager, Construction Dept., NOVEC, accepts an award from Kelly Easterly
on behalf of Junior Martin, Right of Way and Grounds Maintenance Supervisor,
and Richard White, Construction Supervisor, for service above and beyond the call
of duty in the Lindendale neighborhood.

DCCA/CRB Commuter Lot Project

Kayne Karnbach, Nate Welton, Eiko Tolbert and Grant Bell

The Dale City Civic Association/Community Revitalization and Beautification committee recently tackled a highly visible, unsightly area in the heart of Dale City. The commuter lot at Dale Boulevard and Gemini has a planting bed, 275 feet in length that was unkempt, overgrown, and full of weeds, vines and poison ivy.

The CRB, under the umbrella of the DCCA is comprised of a group of individuals dedicated to and active in many areas of Prince William County. We work with PWTSC (Prince William Trails and Streams Coalition) Neighborhood Leaders Group, Habitat for Humanity, and Prince William Clean Community Council, and many more to help improve our community.

We also thank Ed Wheeling, PWC Public Works, Art Klos, VDOT, and our  Neabsco District Supervisor, the Honorable John Jenkins.

Their help and cooperation was essential to our success. It is our core belief that we citizens can work together to improve the appearance of our community by sharing our time, talent, and  resources, working with other non-profits, using liberal doses of attributes like pride, civic duty, activism and self empowerment.

Special thanks to Uwe Kirstie, Environmental Services Division Chief for critical support in removing the tree stump that held up our project.
