DBHS Symphonic Band: This ensemble meets every other day, and rehearses & performs a variety of concert literature primarily graded III and IV. Traditional repertoire as well as music from contemporary composers are studied. In addition, students continue to develop their personal musicianship skills, as well as ensemble musicianship skills through weekly lessons. The Symphonic Band performs at two school concerts, and an additional adjudicated performance each spring.
DBHS Wind Ensemble: This ensemble is the advanced concert group and meets every day within the school schedule. Students function as part of the Symphonic Band, but prepare their own concert of music graded IV, V, and VI. Traditional repertoire as well as music from contemporary composers are studied. In addition, students continue to develop their personal musicianship skills, as well as ensemble musicianship skills through weekly lessons. The Wind Ensemble performs at two school concerts, and an additional adjudicated performance each spring. Auditions for the Wind Ensemble take place in the spring of the previous school year.
