Kanye West is not only a record producer, but he is also a Grammy Award winning rapper who became famous in the mid 2000's.  All of his albums carry interesting  titles relating to life:  The College Dropout, Late Registration and Graduation.  These first 3 albums of Kanye's received nine Grammys and numerous other awards. 

His mascot is a Teddy Bear which appears on the cover of three of his albums.  He also features a Teddy Bear on his single release "Stronger".  He owns his own record label Good Music. 

His parents divorced in Atlanta when he was only three years old.  His dad, Ray West, was a former Black Panther and worked for the Atlanta Constitution as a photo journalist.  He now helps others working as a Christian Counselor.  Kanye's mother's name was Dr. Donda West and she worked in the English Department at a university in Chicago.  She meant everything to him as she sadly passed away in late 2007.  This tradegy hit Kayne as she was his mom, manager, best friend, etc., etc.  Her death came after a plastic surgery procedure,  and it remains a mystery as to what happened to her. 

Kanye is also remembered for all he did for the residents of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina devastated the city several years ago.  He organized fund raisers, food drives, and helped in rebuilding the city who loves him.  Immediately after the hurricane, he was somewhat critical of the relief efforts and it seemed as though after he spoke, the Government really listened and stepped up rescue and relief efforts.
