Since January 1st of 2010 I’ve been delaying the “365 project” I wanted to start at flickr. The reasons: I’m afraid not to be good enough, not to complete it. I don’t feel comfortable with the public daily commitment of posting a photograph. Actually, I’m not sure if I feel comfortable with commitments at all. I don’t think I’m a reliable person for me, I mean, I say I’m gonna do this and this, and never do it. Lack of discipline. Anyway, this is a challenge in many ways. For example, I haven’t practiced my English writing for years, I think I’ve forgotten words and grammar rules. I barely speak up my thoughts in such public ways like these, which is bad, since I want to become a good photographer one day. Although I can be very social and outgoing, I’m not the kind of person who is open to everybody. And writing and posting this is just a big step for me… what for? I’m not sure, but I’m challenging me (that’s for sure). This has nothing to do with anyone but me, but instead of keeping everything to myself (as I always do) let’s contribute to the amounts of information and millions of pictures that are taken every day (hoping that at least one or two photographs will be for your enjoyment). Another thing, I still don’t have Photoshop (and I still don’t know how to use it properly!! ). So, no Photoshop (for now). Then, the other challenge is to learn how to use it and explore its possibilities in these photographs. No more words, let’s get started! This woman has challenged the softness of comfort and is ready to trade the apples from paradise for tomatoes.

European Day Of Action: Protests In Dublin - September 29th. Today a number of protestors gathered outside Leinster House in Dublin to mark the first day of the new Dail term. According to local media reports there were up to 20 individual groups or causes protesting and the majority appeared to be opposing Government cuts and the supports being offered to banking institutions. Among the groups gathered in Dublin were the Irish Congress of Trade Unions, the Children's Mental Health Coalition, the Irish National Organisation for the Unemployed, People Before Profit, Patients Together, SIPTU and the Aerial Spraying Protest Group. I also noticed some posters referring to unwelcome changes to the the 46A route There was also a demonstration outside Anglo Irish Bank headquarters on nearby St Stephen's Green. However, a number of people that I spoke to indicated that they were unhappy by the fact that this particular protest had been hijacked by Gerry Adams and Sinn Fein. I can confirm that Gerry did attend. One man remains in police custody after he drove a cement truck up to the gates of the Dail early this morning. The truck could not be moved as the brakes had been disabled so the entrance was blocke for an extended period of time.
