07-18-2011 Tween Night: Science Fun - Making Lava Lamps Monday, July 18, the South Branch location of the Abilene Public Library hosted its monthly session of its Tween Night event for youth ages 8-15. Under the direction of children's librarian Alyssa Crow & Branch Manager Tremain Jackson, youth were invited to a night of having fun with science. Since so many wanted to participate in the mini-camp, held during the previous week, but seats weren't available, we offered a special Tween Night performing the most popular experiments from the mini-camp. That meant, we were going to teach everyone how to make their own Lava Lamps & Volcanoes. For the first experiment, we showed everyone how to make their own variation of a lava lamp using some simple household materials. With a water bottle, some vegetable oil, a little water and some food coloring, you had all that was needed to get the initial parts of your lava lamp created. Alyssa helped with pouring out these initial ingredients to prevent messes. PROJ. 365: Antique Bottles
Feb. 28 (Saturday)--Day 59 These are some of the Antique Bottles of the Phils Circa 50's 60's and 70's. FYI, my oldest bro collects memorabililas from old LPs, coins, bottles, photos of celebs.. and many more. He has a small gallery here at their house that serves or starts up a conversation. I was looking for something interesting to take pictures and he told me to take some shots of these cool antique bottles that probably most us didn't see yet. These are his precious collections that he has collected over the years.
