The Daydream Generation

Viva La Revolution

The Daydream Generation compilations are about as independent as music gets. It began as a one-person dream team who had an idea to find a lot of great, mostly unsigned bands/artists making original music in multiple genres and having a good time at it, doing it for the love of art, music, creativity, self-expression, and all the while giving a hardy, two-fingered "fuck off" to the arbiters of musical taste, arbitrarily determining who makes it in "the industry." Oh, and the compilation must be available to download for free. Daydreams are far grander than anything imagined by a radio station. And so, The Daydream Generation was born.

These compilations and any artwork are free to download from this site. For promotional purposes only. Not to be sold in any format. Compiled and produced by The Daydream Generation in association with Cozy Home Records. All rights of the producer and of the owners of the recorded works and artwork reserved. For further information regarding the use of songs or images please contact the bands/artists directly. Downloadable for private use only - unauthorised copying, public performance, broadcasting, hiring or rental of the recordings and artwork is prohibited.

September 2007 -

27/9 NEW SITE NEW SITE NEW SITE

We have moved! Again! Coem and join the Revolution at www.daydreamgeneration.com/site

you can regsiter and contribute and buy stuff and still download all the albums. It's the start of something beautiful I swear.

p.s The Daydream Maze is now open for business. Go puzzle it out.

1/9 Please check out the information at the link for DREAMSTREAM 07 above, the planned online music festival we're attempting to put together. If you're a band or musician and would like to have a pre-recorded set broadcast on the day then please get in touch with us at daydreamgen@gmail.com

August 2007 - 28/8 Daydream Revolution 3 is now available for free download here. If anyone notices any glitches or spelling mistakes or incorrect info then email me at daydreamgen@gmail.com and I'll get it updated as quickly as I can. The artwork looks a bit blotchy so I'll get that cleared up this week along with the covers for DG1 & DG2 and make them available here. If you feel like supporting the cause then please use the cover image on your MySpace profile for a couple of days to help generate a bit of interest (you can find it in our MySpace pics). I'm still working on the band profiles - hope you don't mind but that's a whole load of copying and pasting. But we'll get there, we'll get there in the end, yes we will, we'll get there in the end, oh yeah, oh yeah.

27/8 We have temporarily relocated here with Daydream Generation 3, and the Dreamstream festival just around the corner. For now it's a work in progress - I'm steadily working through all of the band profiles and the Daydream Maze is still under construction. From DG3 onwards you will only be able to download the compilations as single zip files, although daydreamgeneration.com will be getting reworked sometime in the future so that the player & a selection of individual songs will still be available. So keep watching this space, there will be plenty of plates crashing down around our heads in the very near future. Should be interesting. And messy. And just a little bit psychedelic.

Daydream Radio: first podcast is out there.
