 Welcome to the website of the laboratory of David Relman in the Stanford University School of Medicine, and VA Palo Alto Health Care System. Our investigative program falls within the general themes of host-pathogen interactions and human microbial ecology, and is divided into two research areas: 1) Ecology of the microbial communities indigenous to humans and other mammal hosts 2) Classification of humans with systemic infectious diseases, based on features of genome-wide gene transcript abundance patterns
