I completed my internship at Alcovy High School of the Newton County School System in Covington, Georgia. I have been an intern since August, 2008 and finished in April, 2009. As part of my internship, I
- assisted students with locating materials in the media center
- shelved books and other materials
- assisted teachers and students with issues involving technology
- acted as one of the coaches for the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl Team
- created a consideration file for books
- worked at the circulation desk, checking materials in and out
- sold school supplies
- participated in media committee meetings
- taught lessons on copyright/plagiarism
- designed/created several displays in the media center
- collaborated with teachers in creating lessons for use in the media center
- processed and cataloged books
- created flyers for various programs for the media center
- helped with Teen Read Week and National Library Week
- created a curriculum map for the media center for 9th grade language arts
- helped with other clerical duties
