Rules of The Manor

Greetings and allow us to introduce ourselves. We are Lady Powin and Lord Bursha, rulers of Darkmoor Manor. As you know, all homes have rules and we are nae different. These rules will help you better to enjoy your time spent with us.

If you are new and break a rule, we will give you a second (sometimes third and fourth) chance to correct yourself. If it becomes a consistent worry, you will either become a "guest" of our stockade or escorted off the premises by the guards until such time you make restitution.

While this may seem harsh to ye, recall that in this time frame where we are, you could have gotten yourself drawn and quartered, beheaded or hung!

The Stillroom

You have entered our Still Room. I am Bera, Wise Woman and Teacher of Herbal Lore here at Darkmoor. You will find several people here under my tutelage from healers apprentices, budding alchemists and many more. Here we gather, store, prepare and mix various herbs for the manor's use. What we cannot do ourselves, we barter for or purchase from all over the known world. The walls are lined with jars, bowls, bottles and many books. There are also assorted draws with packets of herbs, which is how they are stored. You may find discussion groups here as well as formal classes. As Liann has mentioned earlier, kindly keep this room tidy and in order.

For information regarding herbal lore, medicine and what we have growing in our manors herbal gardens, please go to our links page by clicking on the icon provided for your use.

Memorials

As you walk within our gardens, you will see stones that have been etched with names. This is a special part of the land. It is here we remember those of us who are no longer with us.

These beloved beings died either from old age, in battle defending the land, from foul play and countless other reasons. Still they are beloved to us and we shall never forget them.

Inazumano Kotetsu No Kame, Wife to Talicarus S'rath Karinth, mother of Kyoto, Daughter of Loki - She died in the summer of 1098, slain by a curse laid upon her by (the name was obliterated from the stone, and is impossible to read). Gone, but always in our hearts forever pulling pranks from that great phonebooth in the sky.

Andreau Karinth, Son of Tal and Annareece Karinth - He died in the winter of 1104, slain at the hands of the demon Azgul in order to give his family time to escape. A hero, a martyr, and a beacon by which one knight lives. "There is no greater gift, then when one will lay down his life for his brother."

Servants

Liann, Housekeeper - where would any of us be without our Liann to keep us calm, cool and sane when the Manor is under attack? It could be raining Orcs on the manor and she will still have a hot meal ready for all ov us, and a clean place to sleep.

On behalf of the Manor's servants, Liann requests that you kindly pick up after yourself. Even just gathering your dishes up and bringing them to the kitchen is a great help.

Aletha, housemaid - respectful and cheerful girl that always has hot drinks and food available to the many guards and assorted entourages that accompany our guests.

Rosslyn, housemaid - She is new to the manor but has become a help in keepking our manor tidy and shining.

Horse Mistress Donnia - She is in charge of the Stables and it's residence. If you wish to purchase a horse or breed one to one of Darkmoor's, it is her you will need to see. Also, Mistress Donnia asks that when borrowing one of these horses, please treat them well or you will feel her wrath.

Master Pierre - Darkmoor's official artist. He is an artistic genious and a master at his craft but one wonders about his grasp on sanity. SInce the Orc wars of Darkmoor, that grasp has considerably gone slack.

Mistress Danyala - Darkmoor's House Arch Mage. Any magickal problems or questions can be answered by her. Also kindly ask her permission if you need to do anything magickal in the Manor otherwise you may find yourself ported to another plane before you can blink twice.

Master Taulin-Ho, Weapons Instructor - Quiet, reserved, patient, tranquil, honourable, peaceful, polite, deadly. TauLin-Ho. Weapons Master to the Manor. Born in the Land of Riu-Shi. Son of a powerful WarLord, the Daimyo of the Ho province and sent at an early age to train in a secret place to be the Daimyo's most trusted and secret weapon and guardian. TauLin soon learned of his father's treachery to the Empire and thusly thwarted his efforts, earning the right to commit seppukku for betraying his Lord and father. His brother, not wishing Tau to die for doing what was right, ordered his brother banished, with full honour and rights as befitted his station. And thus, TauLin came upon the Lands of Darkmoor and here he has remained, guardian to Lady Powin and her family above all others.

Ciuin, Seamstress - She is a young lady who became a member of the staff of Darkmoor after unwittingly delivering a bottle of poison to the Lord of the Manor. It was very difficult to unravel the plot as poor little Ciuin cannot speak. If she ever lifts her chin you can catch a glimpse of a deep, narrow scar, surgically placed to remove her voice. Lady Powin took pity on the waif and offered her a home and taught her a trade. She is now a seamstress for the Manor.

There are so many others that serve the manor that we cannot name but will add to this list as we are able to do so.

Canines

Dustmop - Darkmoors very own self-proclaimed "King of The Underside of The Couch" This little long furred lap dog is the destroyer of the evil Dustbunny.

Sweeps - Lady Powin purchased this little darling dog to keep Dustmop company but so far, that does not seem to be working well. Still she is a little dear and devoted to her Lady.

Didimus - A Blue grey furred scottish dearhound. Every bit as psychotic as his master, and even more reckless, if that is even possible.

Steeds

Lys - Steed of the Lady Powin, Matriarch of Darkmoor.

Tal - Steed of the Lady Lathee, Knight of Darkmoor

Hallan - Steed of Danyala, House Ach Mage of Darkmoor.

Solomon - Hell Steed of Lady Nshara, Vassal of Darkmoor. He keeps an illusion of a 19 hand steel grey destrier to not panic the residents of both stable and Manor.A word to the wise--DO NOT stand behind him.

Flint - Steed of Sir Belar, Knight of Darkmoor.

Soul Fire - Steed of Sir Gerrard, Knight of House Valois.

Jete - Steed of the Lady RoseMary, Heiress of House Valois.

Achor - Steed of the Master Turin, Holder of Hill Fort in the Northern Territories.

Airey Suel - Steed of Tans, Squire of Dame Lathee.

Dragons

Puff-N-Stuff - Mischevious foot long red dragon. While a benign presence, beware of "wee dwaggie" bearing gifts.

Shavaylah - Silver fae dragon. Tiny, fair and full of sunshine and dropper of peach pits upon her enemies.

Stugs - Litte blue fae dragon. Brave and true as are his little brood of Wymsy and Crush.

Drizzt - foot long white dragon and occasional bumbler. He is the guard and messenger of RoseMary.

Mnnyr - A dragoness of the Realms

Windsoul - A black opalescent dragoness.

Cybor - Black Dragon of the Realms

Faes

Cshay Kookla - Fae child adopted by Clopin the Gypsy and adopted sister to Lady Nshara. If she asks if you want to grow or shrink, JUST SAY NO. There are so many critters and faes of this manor, that we just do not remember all the names. Please e-mail our Web Administrator so we can count you amngst them.
