Description: Is a six foot one inch man weighing about 185 pounds, his body build would be considered broad shouldered with a straight and strong back. He is strong without very looking muscular with long legs and arms. His hands are long as are his fingers. He has straight light brown / blond hair and hazel greenish eyes. His skin tone is reddish and light with freckles showing on his body, but none showing upon his face.
Born in Norway, recruited to serve in his king’s army along with his brother. They fought together and his brother died in his arms. Given leave to go home that winter, he married his brother’s wife as was custom. Returned to the war and became known for his marksmanship with the bow and arrow and became part of an elite guard. When the war was over he returned home, became an apprentice to a Free Journeyman Tanner, and had two children by his wife, Ada, a boy named Nad and a girl named Jan. Became a Free Journeyman Tanner himself after 5 years of apprenticeship.
Reason why he left: To better provide for his family, he often left to go hunting for a week at a time, finding pelts for tanning, and meat for the table. On his return from one such an excursion, he found his whole village burned to the ground and every one in it, dead. Killed viciously by Orcs.
Grief stricken he reported the raid to his village to his king. After becoming the scout to find the orcs, he then asked his king for permission to leave the country. His whole life had been wiped out by the Orcs and he begged permission to leave, which was granted.
The reason he choose to be a squire: After having left his Norway he wandered south, and the gods led him to Darkmoor Manor, home of Lady Powin. Lady Powin was generous enough that she bought all of his skins and furs he had to sell, including the skin of an Orc. It was the will of the gods that no wolf or cat skins were in his pack at the time. After having stayed on at the Manor for a week or so, doing what ever odd jobs the could for the Manor, he was told that the Knights of Darkmoor were the knights of the “old code” Intrigued by this, he further found out that here one did not have to be of wealth to be a knight, that the armor, horse and weaponry would be furnished by the kind lady of the manor.
His women, unlike most men, Tans is willing to acknowledge his deep respect and obedience to women.
     Powin – Lady of Darkmoor Manor, his liege, fealty oath to obey her above all others
     Lathee – Dame Lathee, his knight to whom he squired, to her he owes everything he knows about knighthood. She taught him the code and how to use the weaponry
     Kayla – His Companion, who chose him. Kayla is Companion, a “horse” to many, but to those who know, she is a sentient being who can communicate by heart and mind speech with him.  Kayla chose Tans to be her “chosen one” a bond they will hold forever until one or the other dies.
      Aletha – His love, the woman to whom he married, and raises a family.

Tannery: Tans profession, a Free Journeyman Tanner. Now his liege has granted him a bit of property, and with his allowance, and winnings from the tournaments, he had commissioned Kralis Varda to build a tannery in which he now employs others, and have children from the orphanage, who would care to become apprentices and learn a trade.
